Searching for Aerial Photographs
1. Using the Quick Search facility, enter your keyword, place name, subject, concept or aerial photograph reference number in the search
box.
2. Click on the Quick Search icon.
3. Your Search Results will be displayed in just a few seconds.
4. To refine your digital aerial photograph search by image category, date taken, or price, use the Advanced Search facility.
Keyword Tips
You can enter as many search terms as you want, in either upper or lower case, and in singular or plural form, as both will be searched.
When you simply enter multiple words, the system will look to match all words. The more words in your search the more specific results you'll
get. To utilise your search you can click on a thumbnail of an aerial photograph in your search results and use the keywords under the image
as a theasaurus
If you enter a phrase consisting of multiple words (e.g. fife coast) and click Search, the search engine will return
the following aerial photographs:- Aerial photographs whose descriptions contain the exact phrase fife coast
- Aerial photographs whose descriptions contain the words fife and coast
- Aerial photographs whose descriptions contain the words fife or coast
Alternatively, you can browse the Picture Research Solutions’ easy-to-navigate and logically organised categories/subject
listings.
Adding Aerial Photographs to your Shopping Cart
Once you have found an aerial photograph you wish to purchase, before adding to your shopping cart you need to:
1. Select your preferred Format for the image you want to purchase from the first pull down list of available options of:
- Digital Image - Self-Service Download
- Digital Image - On CD-ROM - Posted
- Printed Photograph (Available in 3 Sizes - Unframed) - Posted
2. Select your Licence depending on the format of the image you have selected and what you intend to use it for from the second full down list of available options of:
- Printed Photograph - Personal Licence (Restricted Use)
- Printed Photograph - Commercial Display/Reference Licence
- Digital Image - Personal Licence + 600x450px/212x159mm@72dpi image (Restricted Use)
- Digital Image - Web/PDF Reprod. Licence + 600x450px/212x159mm@72dpi image
- Digital Image - Newspaper Reprod. Licence + 2700x2000px/312x234mm@220dpi image
- Digital Image - Print-Run Reprod. Licence + 4000x3000px/339x252mm@300dpi image
- Digital Image - Print-Cover Reprod. License + 4000x3000px/339x252mm@300dpi image
3. When you have selected your format and licence type and are ready to purchase your chosen aerial photograph(s), just click on the Add to Cart
button. The instructions on the site will then walk you through the ordering and purchasing process.
At every step of the ordering process you can delete items from your Shopping Cart and will be given the option to cancel
the purchase procedure. Choosing that option will return you, and the selected images, to the Shopping Cart. Aerial photographs can be
stored in the Shopping Cart between site visits, so you do not have to buy everything at one time.
Purchasing Aerial Photographs from Picture Research Solutions
Once you have added the aerial photographs to your Shopping Cart, if you have not already done so, you will be asked to sign in with
your Customer Account details or, as a new customer, create a new account.
Having signed in or set up a Customer Account, you will then be taken to your Shopping Cart to view the aerial photograph(s)
you wish you purchase. If you wish to continue shopping for further aerial photographs click on the Continue Shopping button,
or if you have completed shopping click on the Checkout button.
At the Checkout, if you have purchased hardcopy aerial photograph prints or delivery on CD-ROM you will be asked to confirm the Delivery
Address to which your items should be delivered, select your preferred Delivery Option depending on how soon you wish to
receive your order, and provide a Billing Address, to which your receipt of payment will be sent. The delivery charge for
your order will be displayed on the order summary page just before you submit your order.
Next, you will also be asked to let us know how you want to pay for your aerial photographs. By selecting the SecPay option,
you can make payment by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, Switch, Maestro, and Solo. Alternatively, for
business customers, and dependent on qualifying criterion and verification, we offer the option to make payment by purchase
order.
Confirming your Order
Finally, you will be asked to Review and Submit your order by checking the information you have provided and making
adjustments by clicking the Edit button next to the relevant information. When you are ready, click the Confirm Order button
to submit your order. If you have selected to pay by credit or debit card, you will then be taken to the secure SecPay
payment page and asked to provide your card details.
Once your order has been submitted, we will then send you a confirmation e-mail message from which purchased digital aerial
photographs can be downloaded. For purchasers of Picture Research Solutions’ hardcopy aerial photograph prints or CD-ROMs the confirmation
e-mail will also include estimated delivery dates and you will also be sent an e-mail message when we dispatch the order to
you.
